Internet Marketing - An Excellent Insight

So what is internet marketing?
Internet marketing is utilizing the internet as a tool to research a product or products, researching that product or products competition or competitors. Then based upon that research utilizing the internet as an advertising, and or marketing avenue to promote and sale a specific product or products, or generate a list of potential customers or sales leads for the sale of a future product, products, and or service.
Internet marketers are individuals or teams that focus on and specialize in utilizing the internet with their combined talents and knowledge to research and locate a product or products to promote that have the potential for the highest level of conversions to promote, then create the maximum amount of exposure that will create the maximum amount of sales revenue with the least amount of resources.

Product Selection:
In the world of internet marketing, choosing the right product to promote, market, and sale is key. Especially as a beginning internet marketer, you will have almost immediate failure if you target a niche that is flooded such as mortgage, insurance, credit card, or real estate lead generation. You will also fail if you target a product or service that has very little interest for example if you were trying to promote and sale an E-Book on how to catch flies.
There are many software products on the market that help internet marketers find, sift through, research, and choose hot selling niche products that they can move into, and make decent money off of. Since many products at some point have a tendency to die off, or become flooded with marketing guys, true internet marketers are very skilled at the process of finding new products, and are continually on the hunt for hot niche products to get out to promote and sale.
If you are following the path of an internet marketer that will be researching, and selecting multiple products and niches to promote, consider this when doing your research. Even in the old days before the internet, large marketing firms would spend thousands and thousands of dollars in intense detailed research just to determine if a product was worth putting the time, effort, and financial resources into promoting it. Many times large marketing firms would spend all this time and money in research only to decide not to pursue the promotion of a particular product. Yes product selection should be seen as a huge factor in the internet marketer's process, and not be taken lightly.

Advertising
A great example of just pure advertising would be a television commercial that just taunts the great things about say a big bank. The intent of that commercial is purely brand building or name recognition, and not necessarily to grab a customer on the spot. In other words, when the big bank runs that television commercial, they won't have someone sitting by the phone waiting on a huge rush of immediate phone calls to come in right after the commercial airs.
Most companies utilize many different forms of advertising such as television, newspaper and magazine articles, radio, classified ads in newspapers, direct and co-op coupon mail outs, and phone book advertising. Successful internet marketers realize that it is really no different for them, and over time have developed, and have in place and ready to go many different avenues for getting massive amounts of online exposure at their fingertips most of which costs very little if anything at all.

Marketing
An example of just pure marketing was in the old days with the telemarketers. The telemarketers for the most part were really a lead generator, some did make sales, but with many companies such as insurance mortgage, or service oriented companies, they were lead generators. In these cases, the telemarketer was true marketing because they essentially were not really making calls to just build a brand name. The telemarketer's role was mostly to grab a lead that they considered through some level of interest to be a strong potential buying customer, and turn it over to a sales department to make a sale, or close a deal.
Pure marketing from an internet marketer's point of view for example would be a simple form that is utilized to grab a potential buyer's contact information. For example, if you saw a small ad on a website that says "Make $100.00 per day online", with a simple form asking for your name and email address, that would be a form of pure marketing. The marketer is simply looking for future customers to add to their list of people that have an interest in making money online.
Now keep this in mind when you're putting together campaigns. In the old days, thousands of dollars were paid to professional writers to create the perfect telemarketing sales pitch, and if you were ever unlucky enough to have worked for any of these telemarketing firms, you know that most of them required that you followed this script to the T. Many of these scripts were considered corporate knowledge that most telemarketing firms protected almost as being secret formulas. So yes, spend sufficient time and effort in developing your initial pitch you plan to use for that initial ad or email blast or what ever method you use for your initial exposure.
Advertising / Marketing:
Both advertising and marketing tend to share the same space in many situations, and typically sales will stand alone. For example, in most large corporations, you will have an advertising and marketing division that is separate from the sales division. The marketing and advertising division essentially develops advertising and marketing campaigns together to create incoming leads for the sales division.
Now let's look at an example of where the line turns grey differentiating between marketing and advertising is with campaigns such as say a postcard mail out. If the post card that the company mailed out just had the company's name on it, and what they did but with no phone numbers, address, or contact information on it, that would be just pure advertising, and not necessarily a specific form of marketing or lead generation piece. In most cases, advertising and marketing roll hand in hand. For example, if you see a form on a web site that says "Make $100.00 per day online" along with the brand name Big Bobs Internet Marketing School, and a place to submit your name and email address that would be an example of advertising (brand name building) and marketing (Lead generation or list building) both together.
Sales
After introducing the product, and creating a lead, you want someone that is a strong salesman or closer that can wrap up the deal actually get the customer to pull the checkbook or credit card out, and close the deal. In many cases with internet marketers, the sale is made online with the typical buy now button. Often times for large product launches, thousands of dollars are put into creating the perfect sales page to insure maximum sales every time that page is viewed. Consider this when creating your own sales page or pages. This is where you would have to be wearing your sales hat. Quite often this is the last chance you will have at making this sale. Many times once the potential buyer closes that page, their gone for good.
Conclusion
Essentially the internet can be utilized as a marketing tool or lead generation tool, an advertising tool just for name brand promotion, a virtual salesman or all together. Think about it this way, If you have a web site that introduces your company, and on the same page has a form to fill out or a phone number to call for a interested customer to contact you, then you are using that web site as both a advertising piece for brand name building and recognition, and also as a marketing or lead generation piece. And if you add a buy now button on that same page where the visitor can purchase the product right then in real time, that one page has become an advertising piece, a marketing piece, and a sales page all in one.
Successful internet marketers over time have acquired, developed, and honed the skills needed to inexpensively reach thousands of targeted potential prospects, present advertising, marketing, and sales landing pages to those prospects in such a way as to get the highest levels of response that closes deals, or gets a desired response from a visitor. These are the skills that have positioned true internet marketers in today's world to work when and wherever they want to work, and make the kind of money they do.
These skills have not been developed overnight, but built on by a relentless collection of knowledge, and acquired marketing software tools that have catapulted them into the absolute best positions any entrepreneur could ask to be in. The journey is truly an investment of time that can be started on a shoe string budget, and pay for itself along the way.
One of the greatest bits of advice I ever received was to start reviewing all the internet money making systems available, set a budget which for me at the time was three hundred dollars, start purchasing the systems, fully implement and learn everything I could. Once I had purchased and implemented three hundred dollars worth of various systems, I stopped spending until the systems I had implemented had made three hundred dollars. This was excellent advice, all of the systems paid for them selves over time supplying me with a huge amount of knowledge and resources, and looking back I wish I would have set my budget higher, and jumped up the ladder a little faster.

Tuesday, October 04, 2011 at 12:42 PM

Webmaster level: All

Earlier this year google announced a limited pilot for Search Engine Optimization reports in Google Analytics, based on Search queries data from Webmaster Tools. Thanks to valuable feedback from our pilot users, we’ve made several improvements and are pleased to announce that the following reports are now publicly available in the Traffic Sources section of Google Analytics.
  • Queries: impressions, clicks, position, and CTR info for the top 1,000 daily queries
  • Landing Pages: impressions, clicks, position, and CTR info for the top 1,000 daily landing pages
  • Geographical Summary: impressions, clicks, and CTR by country
All of these Search Engine Optimization reports offer Google Analytics’ advanced filtering and visualization capabilities for deeper data analysis. With the secondary dimensions, you can view your site’s data in ways that aren’t available in Webmaster Tools.

To enable these Search Engine Optimization reports for a web property, you must be both a Webmaster Tools verified site owner and a Google Analytics administrator of that Property. Once enabled, administrators can choose which profiles can see these reports.

What is SEO Anyway?

Both pay-per-click and SEO are targeted to get your website placed as close to the top of search engine results as possible. Marketing and SEO are different, yet very, very similar. SEO are considered as the main factors in enhancing the traffic of one's website. The concepts of good SEO are hardly a secret. The people who least understands issues with URL structure and SEO are the very people who create them: web developers, programmers, and software developers.

Many long-time SEO's are now looking at the big picture and working with usability analysts. Some SEO are scam artists. I find it interesting that so many newcomers are given the wrong impression that there is one almighty answer to doing well in search engines. SEO are specialized techniques used to optimize your web site, to be Search engine friendly and increase your chances of placing well in searches. But SEO can also be the most profitable methods of driving leads because any leads you receive from SEO are free leads.
There are a large number of companies that adopt a fast and unethical approach to SEO known as Black Hat SEO. They employ unethical techniques that are against search engine policies. The best results from SEO are rarely achieved overnight. Black hat SEO are the techniques used to fool the search engines in order to bring in more traffic to websites. Website owners who unknowingly utilize black hat techniques of SEO are more vulnerable to changes in search engine algorithms and faced being banned.

Most hardcover books on the subject of SEO are best viewed as a vehicle to help the beginner understand the process of search engine optimization. This is because the principles behind SEO are not easy. They are very informative and most webmasters are involved in SEO and using it. White hat and black hat SEO are two opposing views of how to do search engine optimization. In a nutshell, SEO are methods that aim to improve the position or rank of a website in the listings produced by search engines. The benefits of SEO are almost unlimited.

Watch out for SEO Tools and software that is outdated and totally useless. Always research before you buy any SEO software because the search engine Algorithms are constantly changing thereby improving their search technologies to provide the most relevant results for their users. SEO tools for Google, MSN and Yahoo are numerous. SEO tools for press release optimization were also launched by PRWeb at the end of June called SEO Wizard. Search engine optimization is not easy, but with the right SEO tools, your website promotion task just got a lot easier. Blogs are one of the best SEO tools around and some like WordPress are free. Google Sitemaps' are a powerful SEO tools which you can get free by visiting my website.

MSN has launched a suite of SEO tools to go with their Pay Per Click product Adcenter. There are many SEO tools available on the internet, some are better then others, and some are not. Header tags, proper Keyword density, proper text formatting fonts, start text key-phrase as whole phrases, alt image tag text, links pointing to your site and each page and your domain name itself are some things to pay attention too. Many specialized SEO tools can help you determine the popularity and the competitiveness of your possible keywords and can help improve your search engine ranking particularly in Google.

Writing fresh content for SEO plays a large role in keeping visitors on a web site. Let's talk unique web page content and SEO content strategy. Finding a good SEO content writer is easier than you think. Just run a Google search or checkout elance.com. What is good SEO Content? It is unique, quality information that your visitors can use and is helpful to them. RSS feeds are an invaluable tool in the SEO content toolbox. If you scrape SEO content and end up scraping a couple spam pages, you may get noticed even more because someone is investigating the other spam pages.

The primary factor that will determine whether your SEO content is "good enough" is the content provided by competing websites. You need unique content that nobody has in order for it to pass duplicate content filters. That's why it is important to get your content articles indexed before you submit them to the search engines. I think nowadays though search engine algorithms can trace back the content and see who published it first, so at least make sure you publish it to your website or blog before submitting it to article directories.

To strengthen the theme of your web site, you need keyword rich SEO content. SEO content writing tips content writer's main aim is to create a new written piece which is original, simple, informative and also to the point. Write specific targeted SEO content for the independent pages. Unique SEO content remains king. Showing your visitors you can really write unique, compelling content, your traffic will grow very fast. Earlier it was just content writing but now it is widely known as SEO content writing. However there are some strict rules enforced on SEO content. Once you have visitors, your SEO content should be converting them into customers. With effective SEO content on your website, half of your search engine rank optimization work is done.

Ethical search engine optimization is a must or you will get banned. It's not if, it's when. Search engine optimization was and still is fascinating to me. Search Engine Optimization is a crucial part in a websites success. The objective of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is to achieve high natural search engine placement for relevant keywords or keyword phrases. Hiring an ethical search engine optimization company to rank well in the natural results is essential to long term success.

Your white hat Search engine optimization (SEO) campaign will provide you with a long term increase in targeted traffic and qualified visitors to your Web Site. Visit my site often and add it to your favorites as I update you with the latest news and rumors in the search engine optimization industry everyday. The effects of bad search engine optimization are devastating and very depressing. Each website is unique in its own way and hence your (SEO) plans differ from website to website.

My site has some tips on how to perform search engine optimization (also know as SEO) on your website. I have a free, comprehensive guide to the practice of search engine optimization for those unfamiliar with the subject if you send me an email. There's a lot of hype out there about search engine optimization (SEO) services. Some are good and some are bad. Read through Google's terms of service as they have some information on their site about it.

Too often, visual design and SEO are perceived as a mutual sacrifice. Pay-per-click and SEO are targeted to get your website placed as close to the top of search engine results as possible. Pay-per-click cost money, but the clicks from SEO cost you nothing. SEO are considered as the main factors in enhancing the traffic of one's website. Both, PPC and SEO are important. The truth is, the most rewarding part of SEO are often the slowest to reward. PR and SEO are based mostly on editorial credibility and relevance, not a direct payment for exposure.

SEO are specialized techniques used to optimize your web site, to be Search engine friendly and increase your chances of placing well in searches. There are a large number of companies that adopt a fast and unethical approach to SEO known as Black Hat SEO. The main components of on-page SEO are optimization of the title tag, the headline tag, the body text and the Meta tags. Companies interested in SEO are occasionally not very happy with how their website looks. Programmers with an understanding of SEO are in high demand. As a matter of fact, sites with excellent Search Engine Optimization are making giant leaps in rankings and getting a major boost in free traffic with Google's new update.

Great web usability and SEO are wasted if folks who visit your web can't tell that you are worthy of their trust. Those who specialize in SEO are in the unique position of understanding the web in a way that no traditional marketing agency can hope to. White hat and black hat SEO are two opposing views of how to do search engine optimization so if you use one, choose with great care. The second most important aspect for high SEO is the headers. Use H1, H2, H3, H4 headers.

Many of the techniques that can be used for SEO are banned by the various search engines. The benefits of SEO are almost unlimited. Bad techniques of SEO are a strict 'NO' - Like same color text as the background and Doorway pages can get your website banned. The five forces of SEO are relevant Keywords, unique Content, clean Code, relevant Links and proper use of Technology. Designing for users and designing for SEO are not mutually exclusive goals. There will be compromise. White hat SEO are techniques that follow precisely the rules and guidelines provided by search engines stand a better chance of receiving traffic and higher rankings than black hat techniques.

For this reason it is important to try to stay updated as far as new SEO are concerned. The off-page elements of website promotion and SEO are just as important. The majority of issues with SEO is very basic and just takes time to be picked up on search engines. Web design and SEO are two very different disciplines, but a certain degree of collaboration is required. It's easy to see why effective SEO are now very much in demand. Black hat SEO is techniques used to trick or manipulate search engines for higher rankings.
If done properly, the results of your SEO efforts are very impressive. Those who practice what some refer to as "ethical" and "correct" SEO are called White Hat SEO's. The most important for SEO is to follow the rules and you won't have anything to worry about.

Dynamic Views: seven new ways to share your blog with the world

As Google said a few weeks ago when we launched a completely rebuilt, streamlined authoring and editing experience, we’re in the process of bringing you a much improved and modernized Blogger. The next phase of these updates starts today with seven new ways to display your blog, called Dynamic Views.

Built with the latest in web technology (AJAX, HTML5 and CSS3), Dynamic Views is a unique browsing experience that will inspire your readers to explore your blog in new ways. The interactive layouts make it easier for readers to enjoy and discover your posts, loading 40 percent faster than traditional templates and bringing older entries to the surface so they seem fresh again.

Dynamic Views is much more than just new templates. With just a couple clicks, you’ll get infinite scrolling (say goodbye to the “Older posts” link), images that load as you browse, integrated search, sorting by date, label and author, lightbox-style posts for easy viewing, keyboard shortcuts for quickly flipping through posts, and one-click sharing to Google+ and other social sites on every post.

No two blogs are the same, so you can choose from seven different views that display text and photos differently. For example, if you have lots of photos on your blog, you may prefer Flipcard or Snapshot. If your blog is more text-heavy, then Classic, Sidebar (what you’re seeing now on Blogger Buzz) or Timeslide may be preferable. Here’s a quick description of each of the new views, along with links to some of our favorite blogs where you can check each of them out in action.
  • Classic (Gmail): A modern twist on a traditional template, with infinite scrolling and images that load as you go
  • Flipcard (M loves M) - Your photos are tiled across the page and flip to reveal the post title
  • Magazine (Advanced Style) - A clean, elegant editorial style layout
  • Mosaic (Crosby’s Kitchen) - A mosaic mix of different sized images and text
  • Sidebar (Blogger Buzz Blog) - An email inbox-like view with a reading page for quick scrolling and browsing
  • Snapshot (Canelle et Vanille) - An interactive pinboard of your posts
  • Timeslide (The Bleary-Eyed Father) - A horizontal view of your posts by time period

Adding a Dynamic View to your blog is as easy as changing your template. Log in to Blogger, click on the Template tab on your dashboard, and select whichever view you want to set as your default. Note that readers can still choose to navigate your blog in a different view by selecting from the pulldown in the upper left of the screen.

If you want to add your own touch to any of these new views, you can upload a header image and customize the background colors. We’ll be adding more ways to customize Dynamic Views in the coming weeks.

We hope you enjoy the latest update to Blogger, and that, as always, you tell us what you think by completing this short survey.

Note: In addition to Blogger Buzz, several other official Google blogs will be featuring Dynamic Views through the weeks and months ahead, including the Gmail Blog, LatLong Blog and Docs Blog. We’re excited to bring Dynamic Views into the fold and we'll be looking at how to incorporate this new technology across Google’s blog network in the long term.

Pagination with rel=“next” and rel=“prev”

Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 5:00 AM

Webmaster level: Intermediate to Advanced

Much like rel=”canonical” acts a strong hint for duplicate content, you can now use the HTML link elements rel=”next” and rel=”prev” to indicate the relationship between component URLs in a paginated series. Throughout the web, a paginated series of content may take many shapes—it can be an article divided into several component pages, or a product category with items spread across several pages, or a forum thread divided into a sequence of URLs. Now, if you choose to include rel=”next” and rel=”prev” markup on the component pages within a series, you’re giving Google a strong hint that you’d like us to:
  • Consolidate indexing properties, such as links, from the component pages/URLs to the series as a whole (i.e., links should not remain dispersed between page-1.html, page-2.html, etc., but be grouped with the sequence).
  • Send users to the most relevant page/URL—typically the first page of the series.

The relationship between component URLs in a series can now be indicated to Google through rel=”next” and rel=”prev”.

There’s an exception to the rel=”prev” and rel=”next” implementation: If, alongside your series of content, you also offer users a view-all page, or if you’re considering a view-all page, please see our post on View-all in search results for more information. Because view-all pages are most commonly preferred by searchers, we do our best to surface this version when appropriate in results rather than a component page (component pages are more likely to surface with rel=”next” and rel=”prev”).

If you don’t have a view-all page or you’d like to override Google returning a view-all page, you can use rel="next" and rel="prev" as described in this post.

For information on paginated configurations that include a view-all page, please see our post on View-all in search results.

Outlining your options

Here are three options for a series:
  1. Leave whatever you have exactly as-is. Paginated content exists throughout the web and we’ll continue to strive to give searchers the best result, regardless of the page’s rel=”next”/rel=”prev” HTML markup—or lack thereof.
  2. If you have a view-all page, or are considering a view-all page, see our post on View-all in search results.
  3. Hint to Google the relationship between the component URLs of your series with rel=”next” and rel=”prev”. This helps us more accurately index your content and serve to users the most relevant page (commonly the first page). Implementation details below.

Implementing rel=”next” and rel=”prev”

If you prefer option 3 (above) for your site, let’s get started! Let’s say you have content paginated into the URLs:

http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=1
http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=2
http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=3
http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=4

On the first page, http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=1, you’d include in the <head> section:
<link rel="next" href="http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=2" />

On the second page, http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=2:
<link rel="prev" href="http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=1" />
<link rel="next" href="http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=3" />

On the third page, http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=3:
<link rel="prev" href="http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=2" />
<link rel="next" href="http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=4" />

And on the last page, http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=4:
<link rel="prev" href="http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=3" />

A few points to mention:
  • The first page only contains rel=”next” and no rel=”prev” markup.
  • Pages two to the second-to-last page should be doubly-linked with both rel=”next” and rel=”prev” markup.
  • The last page only contains markup for rel=”prev”, not rel=”next”.
  • rel=”next” and rel=”prev” values can be either relative or absolute URLs (as allowed by the <link> tag). And, if you include a <base> link in your document, relative paths will resolve according to the base URL.
  • rel=”next” and rel=”prev” only need to be declared within the <head> section, not within the document <body>.
  • We allow rel=”previous” as a syntactic variant of rel=”prev” links.
  • rel="next" and rel="previous" on the one hand and rel="canonical" on the other constitute independent concepts. Both declarations can be included in the same page. For example, http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=2&sessionid=123 may contain:

    <link rel="canonical" href="http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=2”/>
    <link rel="prev" href="http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=1&sessionid=123" />
    <link rel="next" href="http://www.example.com/article?story=abc&page=3&sessionid=123" />

  • rel=”prev” and rel=”next” act as hints to Google, not absolute directives.
  • When implemented incorrectly, such as omitting an expected rel="prev" or rel="next" designation in the series, we'll continue to index the page(s), and rely on our own heuristics to understand your content.

Windows 8 Developer Preview: Come and get it

Those of you interested in taking the current flavor of Windows 8 for a spin can now download and install the Developer Preview edition.
Being demoed at Microsoft's Build conference this week, the Developer Preview is a prebeta version showing off the operating system at its current stage. Though technically designed for developers, no registration is required, so anyone can download and install it.

The Windows 8 Preview is being offered in three different packages--a 64-bit version with various developer tools, a 64-bit version of just the operating system, and a 32-bit version of the OS.

All three come as ISO files--image files of the contents of a CD or DVD. Since each of the packages is several gigabytes in size, you'll need a DVD if you want to burn the files to a disc.
In Windows 7, you can burn the ISO file to a DVD by double-clicking it to open the Windows Disc Image Burner. For older operating systems, you can use a tool such as ISO Recorder to burn the file. Alternatively, you can use such utilities as Virtual CloneDrive or Daemon Tools to "mount" the ISO file as a drive, eliminating the need to burn it onto a disc.

Since this is a prebeta version, you'll want to install the OS on a spare PC or in a virtual environment so that it doesn't interfere with your production or work machine.
Those of you who want to know what you're getting into before you attempt to install the Developer Preview can check out a hands-on early look at Windows 8 from CNET's Seth Rosenblatt.

What's next after the Developer Preview?

Speaking at the Build conference yesterday, Steven Sinofsky, senior vice president of Microsoft's Windows division, confirmed earlier reports that Windows 8 will next segue into one beta version, followed by one Release Candidate. Assuming all goes well, we can then expect the final RTM (release to manufacturing) edition sometime after that.

Sinofsky didn't reveal a specific timeframe for the beta or Release Candidate. However, the company has been expected to launch the beta at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in January, according to WinRumors.

How to Become a Google+ Pro

Google+ Sparks page

It is currently only available by invitation, but Google+ will launch for the general public soon. In its first two weeks, Google+ booked 10 million members and recorded more than 2.3 billion clicks each day on those little share buttons.

But Google+ is more than just a mashup of Facebook and Twitter. Because Google can draw on its vast knowledge of your preferences based on search history, Google+ takes much of the work out of discovering new information.

Along with communication between individuals, Google+ makes it easy to find new websites that you’re likely to enjoy. Through a feature called Spark, the new social service delivers information to you in a single stream without the hassles of subscribing to an RSS feed.

Google+ is based on the idea of circles: circles of family, friends, business associates and even people who are experts or share your interest in a subject. While Facebook lets its members separate their “friends” into different groups, it has never been an easy process. The circles in Google+ eliminate that problem. You can assign a person to more than one circle.

Getting started

First, you will need a free Gmail account to set up Google+. Click on the Gmail link at the top of the Google search homepage to visit Gmail and create a new account if you don't already have one.
You need an invitation. Send me an email with your Gmail address and I'll send you one. ( lesliemeredith@technewsdaily.com)

When you join Google+, it will ask you to enter a few key details such as occupation and education. It will also ask you to choose a profile photo. You may add more information if you'd like such as "Places lived" and relationship status, but this data is optional. If you don't want to share personal information, you don't have to.
On the right-hand side, add links to other locations on the Web that relate to you. Most users add a personal website or blog, as well as their Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts.

Tip: See your profile as others will see it by clicking "view profile as … " and type in a name of someone in one of your circles.

Two-step privacy
Privacy options in Google+ are based on circles. There are four standard settings: Anyone on the Web, extended circles (includes the circles of people in your circles), your circles and only you. Further, you can specify circles or individuals by choosing the custom option. These settings apply to your profile and your posts.
When you add a post to your stream, you can select the circles of people who will see your post by accessing the "Add circles or people to share with" feature. While this limits the initial group of recipients, any of those people could share your message with others, just like forwarding an email.
To disable sharing, click on the small arrow at the top of your post on the right side. A drop-down menu will appear where you may disable the sharing function.

Using Google+

The mechanics of updating your stream are simple.
  1. Just type in the "Share what's new" box at the top of your Google+ homepage.
  2. Add a photo, video, link or location information by using the small icons in the post box.
3. Choose sharing options. Whatever option you selected in your previous update will appear by default. Click the small "x" in each sharing button to remove. Note: Green signifies public options including extended circles, while blue indicates that you've chosen circles.
Reading your stream is far easier than Facebook or Twitter because Google lets you select the circles that appear in your stream. You can change your selection with a single click. See just family or just colleagues by using the buttons that correspond to each circle you've created.
As your stream becomes more crowded, you may find the mute button useful. For instance, one birthday post can quickly accumulate hundreds of comments. Click on the small arrow in a circle in the upper right corner of the post and select "mute." The post will be hidden, but a one line reminder message and a link to undo mute remains.

For now, Google+ is a quiet place. Even if it fills up, the tools are in place to keep things under control. If you've been hesitant to dive into Facebook, but would like to have a place for communication with old friends, Google+ is a good place to start.

New Delhi: After the Baba Ramdev scare, there is a new complication for the government. Now, Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev pose a combined challenge to the UPA government and the Congress party.
Anna hazare on Thursday declared that he will join Baba Ramdev in his protest fast against black money saying he won't allow the government to weaken the anti-corruption agitation.
"I will join Baba Ramdev on June 5. The fight is against corruption. I will talk to Baba on how to go forward on the fight against corruption. The government has tried to cheat us. The government had assured us that they would look into our demand," he said.
"I will support Baba Ramdev so that the government does not do what it did when we were fighting. We will fight together against corruption," he added.
Anna Hazare also said that there is no divide in the civil society ove rthe Lokpal bill.
"There is no two views on Lokpal bill between us and Baba," he said.
Meanwhile, the UPA's outreach to Baba Ramdev continues. Ministers are expected to meet Ramdev on Thursday as well.
The Cabinet too is expected to discuss the Ramdev issue. significantly the Congress Core Committee will also meet today. Baba Ramdev though is firm on going ahead with his fast, starting Saturday.
The meetings come even as the party indicated it was miffed with the government's red carpet rolled out to the Yoga guru at the airport on Wednesday - he was received by four Union Ministers and the cabinet secretary.
The party is also worried about the fact that the RSS has come out in support of Baba's protest.

Why buy your child a pony?

Owning a pony can be a great way for a child to learn responsibility, and done right your child will learn fast and develop loads of self confidence.  They may make new friends, and they will get plenty of exercise.  But get the wrong pony, and not only can your child lose confidence, they could even get hurt.  Before you decide if buying a pony is right for your child, ask yourself a few questions.

Am I ready to own a horse?

This may be your child's pony, but you are ultimately responsible for it.  Don't buy a pony for a child when the child is the only source of knowledge of horse care and handling.  If you aren't experienced with horses, take the time to learn before you buy.  You don't need to become an expert, but you do need to be confident with horses to be able to set a good example, and you need enough knowledge to make decisions about horse care.

Do I have support?

Chances are your child has a riding instructor.  Talk to them about buying a pony.  Take advice from experienced horse people who know your child.  They'll be the best source to tell you if you and your child are ready to own a horse, and they'll be an important resource later on too. If you are going to keep your pony at a livery stable, talk to the managers there.  If they understand your level of knowledge and experience, they'll be better able to help you out when you need it.

Is my child committed to horses?

Many young riders are infatuated with horses, and many children feel that has to manifest in having their own pony.  But when it comes down to getting out of bed early every morning to feed and care for it, when it's snowing and cold, when they've fallen off or been stepped on for the umpteenth time, when caring for a horse gets really dirty and smelly - will your child still feel the same?  If you have reason to doubt your child's
commitment, then don't buy.

Think Big, Think Differently and Become More

Success is a state of mind. Our tangible achievements, goals reached, certificates earned, or talents developed are the result of our thoughts. And if thoughts lead to actions, actions lead to habits, and our habits are what determine our eventual character and destiny - would this logic not suggest that in order to accomplish big things, we must first develop the ability to think big? And yet, thinking big is not enough. We also need to think differently, talk big, believe more, act big, act now, and act consistently in order to become great and accomplish our goals and dreams in life.

It is important to remember though that thinking big is not the same as dreaming big; in fact, I would argue that they are quite different. Everyone has big dreams - and these dreams are no more than merely hopes and wishes. The ability to think big, however, requires a different state of mind, mental discipline and re-programming, and actually thinking differently than the majority of the mediocre individuals we are constantly surrounded by. Thinking big entails action, changing our perspective, overcoming the voices of fear and doubt, believing in ourselves and our dreams, developing the ability to not worry what others say or think, and establishing goals and a plan that will result in big actions that reflect our big thinking.

Perhaps one of the greatest examples of changing our perspective, re-programming our minds, and thinking big and differently is demonstrated in one's ability to get out of the typical employee mindset. This unfortunate mindset is not only detrimental to one's potential, but it is so commonly accepted that it has become cultural. It is made evident in actions and mentalities such as: doing just enough work to keep your job, only doing work that falls under your responsibilities, thinking of your own schedule and needs rather than the company's or customers, getting excited about pay-raises and promotions, thinking that working for 40+ years for a meager retirement is somehow desirable, and believing that resumes and GPA's and job titles are what determine your abilities and potential.

Thinking big and thinking differently, in regards to getting out of the typical employee mindset, would entail doing more than asked or required, setting lofty goals and working hard to achieve them, becoming a producer and never trading time for money, not believing that grades or standardized test scores or institutions attended dictate your career potential, and realizing that this employee mindset carries over into every aspect of life and is thus the leading reason as to why people so often fail to accomplish their goals, dreams, and become successful in life. Those individuals who continue in this unfortunate mentality develop a dependency upon a boss or company for their career advancement, daily survival, and personal and social approval; and because of this, they fail to develop the necessary attributes for success in anything - which are: thinking big, developing self-confidence, desiring success, believing in themselves and in their dreams, taking risks and overcoming fears, learning from failures, and being willing to be different and do whatever is required to obtain success.

This employee mentality is but one example and situation as to how we can think differently and think big; the reality is that the same principles apply to any circumstance, situation, challenge, goal or dream. Never forget, however, that just because these principles are applicable to any setting or goal we have - we still need to apply the principles! Thus, thinking big is a futile endeavor unless followed by action. To become and accomplish more entails not only a change in mentality but also a change in habits.

Decide now to always think big. Establish lofty goals and specific plans to achieve and realize your dreams. Develop the ability to think differently. Never fall victim to the dominant culture of contentedness and the ease of mediocrity. Train your mind to never worry what others think or say, and learn how to eliminate the voices of fear and doubt. Commit now to doing whatever necessary - as hard and long as it may be, and despite the failures that inevitably result - in order to accomplish your goals and dreams. And always remember that in order to accomplish big things, you must always think big, talk big, and act big!

How To Feel Better In Fifteen Minutes

Life can sometimes get on top of you and make you feel as if you have no hope and as a result you can start to feel depressed and powerless. But you may be feeling depressed but you are not powerless.

If you want to begin to feel better then first you need to just put your worries aside for a second.
I know it's easier said than done but just trust me on this one.

Get a pen and paper and write down the things that you have in your life to be grateful for. Even if it's as simple as running water, clothes on your back, a roof over your head, eyes to be able to read this etc, etc.

Keep writing until you can't think of anything else that you have to be grateful for. Have a think about this and think about how lucky you are to have these things.

Now take a fresh sheet of paper and write down all the things that you appreciate about yourself. What's great about you? Are you a good friend? A great listener? Maybe you're really good at drawing or a great cook?

Be honest because if you look hard enough there is something amazing about all of us. Again keep writing until you can't think of anymore or your arm hurts through writing whichever comes first.

Now just think about these things, who you are as a person and what you have to be grateful for and you should begin to feel a heck of a lot better. There is always a way out, you just need to believe in it.

Do not beat yourself up over what you haven't done just give yourself credit for what you have done. Don't ponder of what you haven't got, be grateful for what you have and I assure you, you will start to feel a whole lot better.

When you begin to feel better you will feel more motivated and like you can do more but you have to start with yourself. Do something you enjoy, put on some music you love and start to dance or a comedy. But shake off them blues because they don't change anything they don't help anyone least of all you.

Keep your chin up because you have plenty to be grateful for it's just sometimes hard to see this when you are feeling down. When you start believing that you can feel better you will start feeling better.

Start with a smile, just a little one and then feel it deep inside your soul till you're grinning like a Cheshire cat. Smiling helps shift your emotions and your mood. You deserve to feel better, the fact that you're reading this tells me you want to. So go on, enjoy yourself do something fun.

New Tourist Place in Pakistan Osama Bin Laden Home

Bin Laden’s neighbours noticed unusual things

Abbottabad: When a woman involved in a polio vaccine drive turned up at Osama bin Laden’s hideaway, she remarked to the men behind the high walls about the expensive SUVs parked inside. The men took the vaccine, apparently to administer to the 23 children at the compound, and told her to go away.

Bin Laden’s neighbours noticed unusual things

This undated artist rendering handout provided by the CIA shows the Abbottabad compound in Pakistan where American forces in Pakistan killed Osama bin Laden. AP
The terror chief and his family kept well hidden behind thick walls in this northwestern hill town they shared with thousands of Pakistani soldiers. But glimpses of their life are emerging - along with deep skepticism that authorities didn't know they were there.

Although the house is large, it was unclear how three dozen people could have lived there with any degree of comfort.

Neighbors said they knew little about those inside in the compound but bin Laden apparently depended on two men who would routinely emerge to run errands or to a neighborhood gathering, such as a funeral. There were conflicting details about the men's identities. Several people said they were known as Tariq and Arshad Khan and had identified themselves as cousins from elsewhere in northwestern Pakistan. Others gave different names and believed they were brothers.

Arshad was the oldest, and both spoke multiple languages, including Pashto and Urdu, which are common here, residents said.

As Navy SEALs swept through the compound early Monday, they handcuffed those they encountered with plastic zip ties and pressed on in pursuit of bin Laden. After killing the terror leader, his son and two others, they doubled back to move nine women and 23 children away from the compound, according to US officials.
